About Kristen Kenton

Founder, President & BOD Chair


In 2017, Kristen Kenton proudly became a Principal (Executive Recruiter) at Adam James, a Colorado-based, retained executive search firm. Kristen manages the firm’s cross-functional, “Transformational Leadership” practice (the senior talent needed to grow, fix, transform or exit a business) as well as the international “Diversity & Inclusion” search division.


Kristen has carefully selected a network of highly trusted and respected human capital and business partners to support the development of a world class, end-to-end talent management practice.


Previously, as the Founder & President of Kenton Talent Management (KTM), a boutique executive recruiting and consulting firm, Kristen worked with middle market organizations and private equity firms on a national basis.  Earlier in her career, Kristen opened the Colorado office as a Principal Consultant & Executive Recruiter for McDermott & Bull, one of the fastest growing retained executive search firms in the Western United States. The company’s leaders came out of DHR International, a top ten search firm.


Due to her passion and success, Kristen held multiple roles at the firm, including building and professionalizing the research and recruiting function as the Director of Recruiting. This provided her with a firsthand perspective of comprehensive research and recruiting techniques within multiple industries and functions. She was later promoted to Principal and opened the Denver-office for the firm. Kristen has enjoyed leveraging this experience when helping HR leaders design and develop “best-in-class” Talent Acquisition functions for clients on a national basis.


Kristen’s passion for building diverse executive teams led to the development of the Executive Women’s Summit.  Women’s Summit Gatherings are by invitation only and were designed to address three primary "spheres" in a senior executive’s life: Business, Social, and Philanthropic. The development of this group has allowed Kristen to further expand her diversity service offerings to clients nationally.


Kristen has a deep commitment to continuously building and nurturing a vast network of executives and trusted advisors.  She is known as a “master connector” and enjoys helping others build a professional sphere of influence.  Kristen possesses a deep understanding of both the art and science behind hiring and retaining strong leaders, and is able to achieve world-class results in record time for her clients.


Kristen is happily married and a mother of a three-year old boy. She is a Colorado native and appreciates spending time in the mountains. She enjoys being connected in her community and has been a nominee of the Denver Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” and “Outstanding Women in Business” awards.
